If you don’t already have plans this Saturday (August 15, 2009), take your friends and celebrate the grand opening of NEW PEOPLE, a building on Post St., that is devoted specifically to Japanese pop culture.

BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT, a popular Japanese clothing brand in the Lolita fashion scene  around the area of Harajuku in Japan that has been setting trends all over the world, will be opening their first U.S. flagship store here in San Francisco. BTSSB original fashion house is located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan and opened their first international retail store in Paris, France. Their clothing is inspired by the rococo period and characterized by Victorian style in a modern day appeal and consists of  blouses,  jackets and coats, jumper skirts, headdresses, bags or purses, shoes and socks for young girls.

Also, be sure to stop by at the J-POP Summit stage in front of NEW PEOPLE at 1:30pm for a Gothic & Lolita Fashion Show! BTSSB will be revealing their newest collection that was debuted at Japan Expo in Paris this past July. Meet and greet the store’s chief designer, Ms. Kumiko Uehara, and model Ms. Misako Aoki who will be there at the boutique!
