SF ZineFest | August 24, 2009

The past weekend was the eighth annual San Francisco ZineFest. The festival is a celebration of all the DIT. The festival was a two-day event and held in the County Fair Building located at 9th Ave and Lincoln Way, with an after party event at the Cartoon Art Museum on Mission Street. It is all ages and always free to the public. There were a variety of activities going on, including workshops and meetings with zine producers, who gathered to discuss, trade, and sell their products.

The festival is basically a meeting place for zine producers and enthusiasts. There is an incredible diversity of publications displayed, ranging from comics, streetwear trends, and recipes. It is an immensely interesting and captivating event. If you didn’t make it this year, I highly recommend marking your calendar for next year’s event.
